Did you know that Day One rights for agency workers are the hirer’s responsibility?

There are two rights to which agency workers are entitled from the first day of an assignment.

As the hirer you must inform agency workers of existing vacancies within your organisation. You do not have to actively seek out each agency worker and tell them individually of the vacancies but you must ensure that they have the same access to information about vacancies as other workers. This can mean posting a vacancy into a communal area (such as a staff canteen) or on an intranet.

Agency workers will also be entitled to access collective on-site facilities such as crèche and childcare facilities, canteen facilities, car parking and the provision of transport services. However, access to facilities can be refused if there are ‘objective grounds’ for doing so. In practice this means that if there is a waiting list for childcare facilities or a car park space, an agency worker is not automatically entitled to a place but can be subject to the same criteria to access the facility as someone directly recruited by the hirer.

‘Amenities’ such as subsidised gym membership and season ticket loans are out of scope as they are considered to be a reflection of the long term relationship between an employee and a hirer which will not be appropriate for agency workers.

The hirer is solely liable for the Day One rights.

Congratulations to Karen, her daughter Sophie and dad Tom on raising £370 in aid of Northern Ireland Hospice. Karen, Sophie and Tom completed the 5 mile Midnight walk to help raise much needed funds for the Hospice.

All funds raised from the Midnight Walk for Hospice will be used to help support adults and children across Northern Ireland, who have been diagnosed with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses, as well as providing support to their families. A gift of £100, for example, will enable Hospice to provide a series of complementary therapy sessions for a patient to alleviate pain and reduce stress and anxiety. So, as you can see, every gift really makes a difference. If you would like to make a donation please visit http://www.nihospicecare.com

Anyone looking for a job in Belfast Northern Ireland is likely to run into the same sort of problems as anyone else in the modern urban environment. A large number of residents and a limited number of industries and jobs make it a very competitive market. This means that a person who really needs and wants to work a full-time and financially rewarding job is going to have to be prepared.

Most jobs in Belfast Northern Ireland will require the individual to first apply with the company, business or organization for a post advertised. This means that a CV is going to have to be created, and it will need to indicate how and when the applicant gained the experience that makes them a good candidate for the position. What this also means is that the applicant may have to do some creative thinking about their professional background and experiences.

Let’s consider the types of jobs in Belfast Northern Ireland that are currently being offered: office staff, call centre professionals, and medical office staff are among some of the most common listings. A person with a bit of office experience might easily qualify for all three areas, but they would have to structure the wording in their CV differently for each application. Sure, this means a bit of work, but the competition for jobs in Belfast Northern Ireland is tough enough to warrant that kind of effort.

How could the CV be reworked to make the experience more suitable to the job offering? Well, if someone has experience as a receptionist, they would be able to tell the company looking strictly for office staff about their organizational skills, abilities with multi-tasking and meeting time limits, their communication skills and even their general clerical skills. The same person could also apply to the call center position, but reword their CV to emphasize the range of telephone skills they acquired while working as a receptionist. Clearly it is important to really consider what the employers are seeking and then consider what experience is available to offer up to them.

One way of ensuring the broadest range of job opportunities is to work with a recruitment agency. Their staffs are trained to recognize the full potential of every job seeker and encourage them to apply in the broadest range of industries and fields possible. This too is a way of getting all of the details about the majority of jobs in Belfast Northern Ireland that are currently available.

The job market in Belfast can be fiercely competitive. This is due mostly to the fact that a majority of urban areas have too many residents and too few jobs. Quite often a job listing is posted and dozens of applicants send in their CVs in a matter of a single day. This means that someone truly qualified may not even get interviewed because their CV was not among the first received. So, how does a job seeker overcome such a no-win situation?

Generally, the best approach is to work with a professional job seeker’s agency, and Ashton Recruitment in Belfast is one of the most reliable and effective. The group is able to break down a job seeker’s search for work by neighborhood, industry, experience level and specialization. They use a special CV analysis to ensure that their seekers get up to the minute information about all of the job openings that they are qualified for. This means that a job seeker may get a notification about a career they haven’t even considered, but one they are perfectly qualified to apply for.

For example, someone with many years experience in the travel industry may not believe they would be a qualified website writer, but in fact they have the knowledge that would make them a perfect candidate for such a business. Ashton Recruitment in Belfast would be able to align such an individual with such a professional opportunity.

The company also works with all of their job seekers to help them build the best CVs possible. They even have a special “CV Wizard” that makes the entire process extremely simple and efficient. By filling in the basic details and providing descriptive text, the job seeker is provided with an electronic file that can be used whenever they want to apply to a job through the Ashton Recruitment in Belfast website.

Needing a job, and spending the time searching for one should not be a frustrating, degrading or fruitless effort. Even when the search is not successful it should provide some information or education, such as the discovery that a certain set of skills or a past experience can qualify the job seeker for a whole new industry. Those enrolled with Ashton Recruitment in Belfast get such benefits from using the service. They can seek jobs in their neighborhood or perform a simple city-wide search, they can look within their specific industry, or they can fine-tune a search for a specific skill. This means that job seekers can enjoy the widest range of opportunities and a leading edge over their competition.

There are several reliable methods for locating job vacancies in Belfast, but among the most productive approaches is the use of a recruitment agency. A majority of businesses tend to approach professional agencies that can provide a pre-screened pool of applicants. This saves the businesses tons of time and money simply by allowing them direct access to people with the skills and interest in the specific jobs they will be offering.

For instance, a publishing house might get dozens of applicants for a single receptionist position if they advertise in the local press, but if they work directly with a recruiting agency, they will be able to meet only with candidates who have the experience and skills required specifically for that post.

While not all job vacancies in Belfast will be channeled through a recruitment service, it is really advisable for the job seeker to contact as many as possible to ensure they are aware of the publicly advertised jobs as well as those available only through an employment service.

When seeking employment in Belfast, or anywhere else for that matter, it is a good idea to scan through all available listing. Job vacancies in Belfast are likely to be organized by industry or skill set, but that can be misleading and inefficient. This is because most qualified individuals often have more skills and capability than they recognize.

For example, the receptionist position above may seem like a field limited to someone with basic office skills and a pleasant manner with the public. Interestingly, an individual who has worked in many different fields is likely to be a good candidate to serve as a receptionist – librarians, personal secretaries, clerks and even waiter and waitresses would all be perfectly capable of interacting with the public and handling the sort of tasks common to the receptionist. This is the reason it is imperative to consider all job vacancies in Belfast rather than limiting oneself to a specific industry or range of experience.

This too should also be reflected in a CV. It is important to make sure to structure the descriptive language in the CV for the particular job being sought. For example, someone who did indeed work in a library, but who is seeking a receptionist position should focus the description of their former job around interaction with the public, communication with the fellow staff members and organization of tasks, as all of this is critical to a well-performing receptionist as well.

When looking for jobs in N Ireland it is important to remember that this small country still has the same diverse workforce as any other nation. There is going to be work in almost any field imaginable, it just requires some preparation and effort to locate and get the work wanted.

For example, just like jobs anywhere else in the world, jobs in N Ireland require a well-designed CV that can be submitted to all potential employers and used to demonstrate a candidate’s skills, experience and eagerness about a particular job.

What this means is that a CV may have to be restructured or reworked for each application. For instance, someone looking for travel related jobs in N Ireland may have to word their CV to demonstrate an interest in hospitality for one business and then reword the document for tour services for another. While this can be handled through a cover letter, it is important to note that not all potential employers will take to the time to read through every cover letter, but they will certainly scrutinize the CV for details.

It is a good idea to spend some time researching any potential jobs or employers before fine-tuning the CV and composing a cover letter. The more you know about a particular business or industry, the more likely that you will be offered a job after applying.

It is also a great idea to work with a recruitment agency that can really target the types or varieties of jobs in N Ireland that you will be capable of doing. Just talking to a recruitment agency may present opportunities never before considered. Again, someone looking for work in the travel industry may not have considered serving as a tour guide, office administrator or even as a writer for a website, but the staff at a recruiting agency would probably point all of these opportunities out to the job seeker.

That brings us to a really valid point about looking for jobs in N Ireland – don’t limit yourself to a single sphere or industry. Skills from one past professional experience can quite easily qualify someone for work in an entirely different industry. This is a way of thinking that is of particular importance in the current economic climate. The jobs market is not as abundant as it used to be and recognizing your own flexibility, skill set and potential will be incredibly beneficial and productive, and can get you into the job of your dreams.

Why should a job seeker work with recruitment agencies in Belfast? Well, such a choice can give an active job seeker a serious edge over all of the competition. Consider a few facts: all urban areas tend to have more people than jobs, and this means that anyone hoping to get a fair shot at a job is going to have to be among the first at the door. Consider too that a majority of employers receive dozens or more applications for a single job and the most qualified individuals may not be interviewed simply because their application is buried deep in the pile. Finally, consider that many job seekers look only within their own sphere of experience and don’t often consider work outside that which they have all ready done.

When someone works with recruitment agencies in Belfast they will instantly overcome all of those previously mentioned obstacles. Recruitment agencies will be well-informed of all job openings long before they “go public”. This means they can inform their qualified job seekers of the listings right away. It also means that the job seekers will be able to submit their CV directly to the employer, most often electronically, through the recruitment agency’s website – this keeps them out of the “pile” of other applicants and gives them a more distinctive and professional edge. Finally, the recruitment agencies in Belfast will recognize when a job seeker’s existing skill set qualifies them for a job. Often this occurs with work the individual may not even realize they are qualified to do or apply for. This is a great way to open the door to new opportunities and career paths.

In addition to making it easier for qualified applicants to get a leading edge on finding job openings, most recruitment agencies in Belfast also provide some great tools to eager job seekers as well. Consider that most allow their registered members to either build a CV through an electronic wizard or tool at their website, or to upload an existing CV. This saves the job seeker a great deal of time, helps them create the strongest CV possible, and provides them with the professional support and assistance that can help them use their skills in the best way possible while seeking a job.

Working with recruitment agencies in Belfast is clearly a good way of locating the ideal work, presenting a professional and eager appearance and getting an edge in the fiercely competitive job market.

Many people associate the word “recruitment” with the military forces around the world, but the same principles have been applied to the world of job seeking as well. Today there are job recruitment agencies all around the world, and they all provide services to job seekers and employers alike – they match the best candidates with the most appropriate jobs and employers.

Job recruitment in Belfast is a great way for anyone looking to switch gears (or careers) to find those looking for employees with their particular experience or skill set. It is also a great way for someone starting out in their professional life to access the tools, support and information that can connect them with that first great job.
How does recruitment in Belfast work? Generally, the agency has a website that asks the job seeker to formally register. After that, they can seek out work according to geographic location, for example a specific area of Belfast, skill set, experience level or even specialization. This helps both employers and potential employees to find one another faster and more effectively.

Consider someone with clerical experience. While they could look specifically for work as a clerk, the various agencies for recruitment in Belfast would be able to provide this same individual with listings that also included other areas of their experience. For example, the individual may have been a traffic clerk, a retail clerk or an office clerk. Each of these backgrounds would have given the individual a varied set of skills, all of which could easily be used in an even wider range of fields or careers.

Of course, it isn’t just the capacity for identifying appropriate jobs that makes recruitment in Belfast such a great opportunity. It is also the fact that it makes it far easier for employers to quickly identify the strongest or most qualified candidates. Consider that in an urban area like Belfast, the number of applicants for a single position is likely to be rather extensive. This means that the employer would have to wade through dozens of CVs and applications in order to find an appropriate pool of candidates. This takes a great deal of time, which all translates to wasted money. Those doing job recruitment in Belfast would be able to notify all job seekers who had the right skills and experience, and then let them send an electronic CV to the employer. This streamlines the entire process and makes it far more productive.
