Health and Safety Officer

Ashton Recruitment require a Health and Safety Officer for our client based in Belfast Habour.

Position: Health and Safety Officer

Location: Belfast Harbour

Duration: Permanent

Rate of Pay: £40,000 per annum

Hours of Work: Monday-Friday, 09:00-17:00

Duties include (but not limited to):

• Reporting to the H&S Manager
• Conducting inspections, audits, site visits
• Participate in all aspects of the company’s ISO accreditations
• Monitoring/maintaining the company’s training and equipment certification/records
• Development of risk assessments and standard operating procedures
• Participating in incident investigations, collecting witness statements and preparation of incident reports
• Assisting with procurement and sourcing PPE
• Administrative tasks in connection to all H&S departmental requirements

Essential Criteria:

• NEBOSH or third level qualification in Health and Safety
• IOSH Membership
• Previous experience working with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001
• Ideally a minimum two years related experience in an industrial environment
• Self-motivated with the ability to prioritise and work independently
• Strong communication and IT skills
• Full driving license
• Excellent interpersonal skills – confidence to communicate standards and requirements with a wide range of people
• Superb eye for detail
• Flexibility and commitment is required for this role due to the nature of this work
