HR & OD Officer

Ashton Recruitment requires a HR & OD for our client based in Lisburn.

Job Title: HR & OD Officer

Location: Lisburn

Duration: Temporary

Rate of pay: £18.35 per hour

Hours: 37 hours per week

As a member of the HR & OD supervisory team the post holder will be required to:

  • Provide and develop a high quality HR & OD service to the Council in support of the corporate plan & strategic workforce plan.
  • To operate in a dynamic and changing environment, inputting creative solutions to HR & OD issues and challenges, and provide professional advice on innovative HR & OD practice.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Liaise with the managers of the unit to supervise and coordinate the relevant service area (see below) within the designated area of responsibility. Provide interchangeability at HR & OD Officer level, in all designated areas.
  • Managing the advising and administrative requirements of the HR & OD Unit to provide a high quality provision of service to ensure that the HR & OD service meets best practice standards for internal and external customers.
  • Supervision and performance management of allocated staff.
  • To provide professional advice and support to the Councils Departments and Units on HR & OD issues at an operational level, to include partaking as a professional HR Representative at any relevant Council processes or meetings.
  • To provide support and advice to line managers in relation to the implementation of Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • As directed, prepare reports and statistical returns to relevant Council Departments, Council Committees and external bodies.
  • Contribute to relevant policy work.

Essential Criteria:

QUALIFICATIONS

1.1 – A third level qualification (for example, an HNC, HND, NVQ Level 4, Degree) or equivalent.

1.2 – Current membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development.

EXPERIENCE

1.3 – A minimum of three years’ management experience of:

  • Training / Learning & Development and/or Organisational Development, to include line management responsibility.
  • Providing advice and guidance to line managers on Generalist Human Resource issues.

Where applicants do not hold the qualifications as outlined in 1.1 and 1.2 above, they must demonstrate a minimum of five years’ experience as outlined in 1.3 above.
