As a Warehouse Operative with Trade Counter Sales, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring goods are received, stored, and dispatched efficiently, while also assisting customers and processing sales orders.

Position Details

Role: Counterbalance forklift driver

Location: Duncrue, Belfast

Rate: £15.00 per hour

Hours: Monday – Thursday, 8:00am to 5:00pm | Friday, 8:00am to 2:30pm

Job Type: Temporary to Permanent

Key Responsibilities

• Offloading and sorting incoming deliveries and goods safely and efficiently
• Receiving stock into the warehouse and checking deliveries for damages and quantity discrepancies
• Storing materials and products within designated racking locations
• Picking, packing, and preparing customer orders for dispatch
• Loading vehicles and preparing freight for shipment
• Operating a counterbalance forklift truck safely and carrying out routine equipment checks
• Assisting customers at the trade counter and providing excellent customer service
• Processing sales orders and payments using point-of-sale (POS) systems
• Maintaining accurate stock records and supporting inventory control activities
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and ensuring a safe working environment
• Assisting with general day-to-day duties as directed by management

Essential Criteria

• Valid Counterbalance forklift licence
• Previous experience working within a warehouse or distribution environment
• Strong computer skills and confidence using point-of-sale systems
• Good literacy, numeracy, and customer service skills
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
• Flexible approach to work during busy and seasonal periods
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Desirable Criteria

• Previous trade counter or sales experience
• Experience using warehouse management systems
• Knowledge of stock control procedures
• Previous experience within a builders’ merchants, industrial, or distribution environment
